Education and Training
Our global expansion was conceived through the recognition that our successful scalable model could work to serve more rural communities. With Barefoot Vocational Training Centres being established around the world starting in 2015, hundreds more women are given holistic learning and livelihood opportunities. We are now operating in India, Zanzibar, Madagascar, Senegal, Guatemala and soon Fiji.
Each centre offers illiterate and semi-literate women locally relevant training opportunities that centre around self-advocacy and resilience. This decentralized model also aims to reduce carbon footprints. It also promotes familiar regions for women who enrol in our training curriculums to help them feel more at home.
